In the United States, the cost of a used ferris wheel is $300,000 although we found something that only cost $60,000. Now we’re not going to tell you where to buy you ferris wheel from (if you do have plans on buying). But we are going to tell you that when it comes to buying, you shouldn’t make any assumptions. Just because something is made in China, it doesn’t mean that it’s totally bad, and just because something is expensive, it doesn’t mean that you will get your money’s worth.
What you want to do is to vet different brands and check out which ones have a record of producing quality rides and, more importantly, have NO record of accidents stemming out of a manufacturing misstep. There are many brands out there, but you can start by getting references from the people in your industry.
If you plan on buying US-made, you do have the advantage of being able to buy a ferris wheel through financing, where a financing company will buy it on your behalf, and then you repay that financing company on an affordable installment basis.
Buying something from China doesn’t give you the same financial advantage, but you do get the advantage of low price, which for many theme park owners is an advantage in and of itself. No matter where you buy your ferris wheel from, just make sure that the manufacturer offers warranties? You can’t go wrong that way.
